If only yesterday was tomorrow

It all happened so soon. And it will be again so soon. You live your whole life based on what you want and need but do you ever stop to think is there something more? Some of us do and some of us don't. And when you think you are on the right path, it turns out to be the wrong one in the end. If only yesterday was tomorrow. If only you were here with me now like you were yesterday when we held each other. If only all of this was done and our time was starting right now. But it's only the beginning. A day by day struggle to be without something you had once everyday. Like an addiction but a good kind. And like a junkie going through withdrawals, I just have to sweat this one out for a while. If only yesterday was tomorrow. If only yesterday was the start of our lives together forever. So it would be today. It may be the hardest thing you ever have to do but if it is something you truly want then you shall have it. There is something more. It just takes time. You have to be patient. A lesson that is hard to learn when all you want to do is be happy. But happy we can be. These are alot of words and thoughts put down in a short time and they may seem jumbled but they will make sense to those who know that life goes on and in the end the nice guy may finish last but isn't it the point to just finish?

Is it fall yet?

I've been loving our crazy Texas weather lately. Mid 90's during the day and low 70's at night. I just hope it doesn't go back up to the crazy summer temps. I'm ready for the fall and sweaters and leggings and boots and hats! I think that's my fav time of year, fall. I'm always cold by nature so when its summer time, I want to wear my shorts and dresses but when I go into a store or a restaurant, they have AC blasting so it's below zero and I can't enjoy myself. I mean I don't want to carry a jacket or sweater everywhere I go in the summer, who does that? But in the fall/winter, I can wear sweaters and jackets and then go into a bar or store and be warm because I have my sweater, because honestly, stores and restaurants still blast their AC in the dead of winter sometimes. Plus, this season is going to be insane with amazing trends. I can't wait! Boots are going to be my fashion challenge this season. The trend for boots this season is thigh high boots. . . that being said, for people who don't know me, I'm not even 5 foot. So this is going to pose to be a small problem ( no pun intended) when I try to go out and find some hot thigh high boots. But, I will try, when it comes to fashion, I try everything once. . . even if it's in the dressing room where no one else can see me, I will pick a fashion forward item and try it out. Anyways, today is Labor Day and I'm at my parents, stealing their internet and watching Whale Wars. Pretty perfect to me. :)

Neglect

Aaaah, it's been a hot minute since I've posted! So sorry, been real busy getting school set up and still don't have internet at the apartment. Blah, but that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking or have nothing fun to write about.

Well, since I last left you, my lover came back from England! YAY! He brought me a couple of goodies from Topshop too. Got some Union Jack boy shorts (cheeky), a cute striped tube top and a beaded headband! I'm so lucky my lover goes to England every year. . . always get cute presents.

Also, since I last left, I've started school at UNT for Fashion Design! :) SOOOOOO excited! I'm so ready for this and I would like to thank my lover for encouraging me to pursue what I love and what I'm good at.

Well, thats all for now. I'll have more exciting news later, I just wanted to get on here and let you know I have not forgotten you. :) Ciao!

Getting ready photo-shoot

With my $5 shirt from WAL MART!!

When I know I'm going out, I get an outfit together and I usually do this WAY before the event. So, I'll be so excited that I get ready hours before it's time to go and when I realize I have two hours left til the it's time to go, I'll take pictures. So this is my little photoshoot before going out with the girls. Don't worry I wore pants. :)

Lover in England Day 5: Trends 2010 part DEUX

Metallics. Not to be confused with high shine. Metallics is strictly the colors. Copper, Metal, Silver, Gold, etc. Just be careful not to get too carried away with them. If you've got a gold dress, go minimal on the gold jewelry. The most metallic I will probably try this season is in a shoe or a purse.
Maxi dresses!! I have one maxi dress that actually fits me length-wise. All you short girls have to be careful when getting a maxi dress. Wearing a heel with it doesn't hurt because most likely the maxi is so long you won't see the shoes. Opt for either a solid color maxi and dress it up with accessories or a floral print like above. The busier the maxi the worse. You don't want too much going on because its alot of fabric.

Lilac. I know the middle dress doesn't have lilac in it but bear with me. Lilac is the new pink. It's soft, goes with most colors and very pretty in a dress.

The Jumpsuit. Can't wait to find one! Jumpsuits are great because it's one outfit in one garment. No pants to take off, no shirt to worry about, it's all there in one fabulous piece. I've noticed alot of silk jumpsuits or a similar material that just kinda drapes on your body with amazing heels. Heels are what make this seasons jumpsuit not your old average J-Lo jumpsuits. This trend might not last very long but while they are hot, they are hot.

Holey knits. Holey tops actually. Holey tops with a bandeau underneath and a pair of short shorts are hot this season. And for Winter, its going to be holey sweaters.

Full skirts! Think almost ballerina-like. These skirts are meant to be worn high on the waist. Gives the illusion of long legs. I have a few of these already and I absolutely adore them. So fun and so girly yet very high fashion.

High-wasited. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING this season is about the high waist. We've already seen it last season and it's here to stay. My lover doesn't really like when I wear high-waisted skirts but the other day I wore them and he called me a "hipster". So the boys may not like them but they will learn to.

High shine! Very fashion forward but should only be worn at night, going out to a club/bar/etc. High shine can be toned down but it's only done right by professionals. . .

Head wraps. YAY! I swear when I get older I will have a fabulous collection of head wraps and I will wear them all the time along with a fabulous muu muu. :) Won't my husband just love that? I think head wraps are a great idea! You can put one on when you need to run some errands but don't feel like doing your hair. Just make sure the outfit works with it because you don't wanna be running around with a fabulous head wrap on and sweat pants. . . .

Gathered skirts. I saw a couple of these as well at Target today. These too are to be work high on the waist because if they sit on the hips, it will make your hips look bigger than they are. The object of the skirt is to draw attention to the gathering not to the hips.

Gray. The color gray. So somber, so gloomy yet add a hot heel and a fabulous belt and gray is the best color next to black. It's very chic and very versatile.

Fun prints. Think crazy prints but in a flattering color scheme. Don't get a dress with print and then all the colors of the rainbow on it. Make sure the colors flow and make sure the prints aren't going to look too busy.

Ethnic Prints. Very fun and very sophisticated looking to me. Looks as if you've travelled the world once or twice and picked up a fabulous dress or skirt from Africa. The colors on these prints have to depend on where the print looks like its from. You can't mix an Indian print with African colors or vice versa. Needs to stay true and be original.

Drawstrings. I'm not too fond of this trend but maybe a dress with drawstrings at the waist might work. Not too sure yet and I haven't really seen any drawstrings out. . . We shall see.

Draping. I was just in Target today and saw a skirt that was draped at the hips. Very casual but still chic and very comfortable. Just make sure you find the right draping for your body.

Day 3 Lover in England: 2010 trends Part Uno

Well, I have been browsing the various fashion collections for 2010 and I'm so excited! I found a trend in alot of the collections that were similar to each other so I know that it will be a trend that will make it to us average people. So below I have a list of the trends for 2010.
Denim! Yay the 90's are back! Haha, denim denim denim. Denim vests, denim skirts, denim shirts. It's all the rage for the coming season.

Deep V necks. They are showing up more for men in shirts but also for women in dresses. I am always torn between a deep V neck and a low cut dress because I have a small chest and a deep V neck on me makes me look like a small boy. . . but at the same time large chested women cannot wear deep V necks without coming off as sleazy. We shall see if I can find a deep V neck that will actually work for me.

Cut outs. Very excited to try this out. Cut outs are very 80's but now they have a modern twist to them so they are very fun.

Coral colors. I love love love coral colors. These corals are a bit pale but I've seen other collections with real punchy corals and thats another big trend this season: COLOR!

Color block. To me, I'm not interested but they look good on certain people. Everytime I go out and find a color block frock, it seems too 60's but who knows . . . I'll always keep looking.

Burnt orange! Yea sounds groddy but actually looks pretty cool especially in a skirt! I might try this one but not sure the color is mine.

Bows! I love it! Makes me feel like a real girl. These bows are awesome because they are not too much and seem to go with the flow of the outfit.

Bold skirts. Skirts are always fun and when you can choose your own bold print it says something about your personality. I'm excited.

Bold lace! Seeing a theme here? Bold bold bold! Everything. Don't be scared, just try it out and if its not for you, so be it. Bold lace is awesome because when I think of lace, I think of old ladies. But BOLD lace makes lace modern and much more fun.

Black & white. . . along with stripes (which is recurring theme in alot of collections too). Black and white is classic, simple but you can spice it up with some color, like these awesome red shoes.

Ok, can't really see well in this picture but this is the "bird print" trend. Small birds, feather prints, etc. it's in! And I'm happy because I love birdies!

The "beading" trend. A lil beading, alot of beading, medium beading, it's all in. Especially for the Winter when you can wear thick fabric that can support extensive beading.

"Art on clothes" What a genius idea! I know I've seen a piece of art and thought "that would look awesome as a dress". So this trend is gonna be pretty big. . . might not last long but it'll be exciting.

All black. Definitely for the Winter season but I'm all about it! Most of my clothes are black because it's so classic and simple but strong. This is going to be a great look this season.

More to come tomorrow! Nite nite ladies! Xx
